I was recently interviewed about one of my favourite real estate topics: curb appeal!

You know what they say—you never get a second chance at a first impression. And when it comes to your home, that first impression starts before buyers even walk through the door. The way the outside looks can make or break their interest in seconds.
But here’s the thing—so many sellers feel stuck when it comes to curb appeal. They don’t know where to start or assume it’ll cost a fortune. Sound familiar?
Well, I’ve got good news for you! Boosting your home’s curb appeal is actually one of the easiest, most affordable ways to make buyers fall in love before they even step inside.
In the interview, I shared some of my top tips that don't break the bank, including:
Touching up exterior paint (especially the front door!)
Keeping the lawn mowed and bushes trimmed
Adding fresh, seasonal flowers or decor for a pop of colour
Updating house numbers and the mailbox
Placing a new doormat and some potted plants by the entrance
These little details make a huge difference. They make buyers feel welcomed, excited, and—most importantly—emotionally connected to your home. And when buyers feel that? They’re more likely to make an offer!
Helping my clients prep their homes the right way is a big part of my Happy Home System for selling your house as quickly and easily as possible. Send me a message to learn more and for a free copy of my guide!
Enhancing your home's first impression is crucial when listing on Canadian real estate listings. A well-staged home not only attracts more buyers but can also lead to quicker sales and higher offers. Start by decluttering and depersonalizing spaces to allow potential buyers to envision themselves living there. Neutral tones and strategic lighting can make rooms appear larger and more inviting. Don't overlook the exterior; a tidy yard and fresh paint on the front door can significantly boost curb appeal. Remember, the goal is to create a welcoming environment that showcases your home's best features.
